Alaska Wilderness
Multi-Sport

Hike, Bike, Sea Kayak, Raft and Ice Climb in Alaska's Wilderness

Experience the majestic beauty of Alaska as we immerse ourselves in a land of crystal glaciers, endless coastline, and abundant wildlife. Exploring this rugged wilderness by land, air and water, we bike along lakes, hike through meadows, raft Class III-IV whitewater, sea kayak the majestic Prince William Sound, and fly into the very heart of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Sample the spirit of adventure that defines the Alaskan experience.

Day 1 Eklutna Lake-Matanuska Valley. Starting in Anchorage, we begin our adventure with your choice of a hike or scenic bike ride along the shores of turquoise colored Eklutna Lake, followed by a shuttle to our secluded getaway in the Matanuska River Valley.

Days 2-3 Kennicott-Wrangell-St. Elias. Take a scenic flight to Kennicott, set in the heart of Wrangell-St. Elias, the largest national park in the United States. Explore the ghost town of Kennicott, site of our cozy lodge. Explore massive Root Glacier, coming face-to-face with a stark, ice age landscape. Looking for more adventure? Choose a hike to the historic Bonanza Mine which features glaciers, waterfalls, and ruins. Or take a glacier hike or learn to ice climb!

Days 4-5 Valdez-Prince William Sound. We transfer along the unbelievably dramatic Richardson Highway to Valdez, "Alaska's Little Switzerland." After a thrilling rafting excursion on the Tsaina River, we sea kayak the well-protected fjords to Shoup Glacier in Prince William Sound, one of Alaska's great natural preserves.

Day 6 Girdwood. Take an unforgettable ferry ride across Prince William Sound where orca whales, sea otters, and harbor seals cavort among floating icebergs. At the end of our crossing, we will either hike on the historic Crow Pass Trail or to the foot of Byron Glacier.
